It is important to have your jewelry appraised in case of loss or theft.  Jewelry is not automatically covered on most homeowner’s insurance policies and often must be listed as separate items with the value based on an appraisal performed by a qualified professional.  Due to the fluctuating value of metal and gemstones, we recommend having your jewelry appraised every three to four years.
