About Us

Jewels That Dance is a fine jewelry store with heart and soul.  Established in 1983, Jewels That Dance was the first fine jewelry gallery and design studio of its kind in historic downtown Asheville.  Jewels That Dance is proud to have been at the forefront of the current arts and crafts renaissance in Asheville. Over the years, the store has grown from a small design studio for goldsmith Paula Dawkins, to a thriving fine jewelry store.  A visit to Jewels That Dance will explain why the store has been voted the best jewelry store in Asheville for more than 15 consecutive years by the readers of the Mountain Xpress.

At Jewels That Dance you will find limitless creative expression in metals and gemstones.  Whether you are looking for local designs by Jewels That Dances’ own jewelers or jewelry designed by other nationally renowned goldsmiths, you’ll be pleased by the selection available in the showroom. If you’re looking for a very special custom designed piece of jewelry, look no further than Paula Dawkins’ studio.  She has become somewhat of a local legend over the years, known for her intuitive design sense and masterful skill.

Please stop by and visit with us at Jewels That Dance, where you’ll find the atmosphere professional, welcoming and relaxing.

Paula Dawkins Fine Jewelry

Hi, I’m Paula Dawkins. Thanks so much for visiting Jewels That Dance and for all your support over the past 36 years.  After a wonderful run in downtown Asheville, Carol and I decided it was time to close Jewels That Dance.  After making this decision, I realized I wasn’t quite ready to stop doing what I so love: making jewelry!  I’ve decided to stay put in my studio and open a custom design and fine jewelry repair shop.  Pete, our master jeweler, is joining me and we invite you to visit Paula Dawkins Fine Jewelry.  We hope to see you soon.
